Deanna Sofie
"Seeking therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time. My goal is to offer a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly understood, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
I use a person-centered approach, meaning that our work is guided by your unique experiences, values, and goals. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify unhelpful thought patterns, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we will focus on understanding what’s beneath the surface while building tools you can use in everyday life. I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, supporting clients through challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting concerns, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I tailor therapy to each individual or family, recognizing that no two experiences are the same.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a high school English teacher, an experience that continues to shape my therapeutic approach. From the classroom, I bring patience, creativity, strong communication skills, and a deep respect for each person’s unique way of learning and growing. I understand the importance of meeting people where they are, breaking complex emotions into manageable pieces, and creating an environment that feels both supportive and empowering. My style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe healing happens through connection, and I am honored to walk alongside you as you build insight, resilience, and more fulfilling relationships with yourself and others. I look forward to meeting you and creating a space of healing, comfort, and growth.”
