Shimomara Rodriguez, MSW
My name is Shiomara Rodriguez-Cruz, MSW, and I am a school-based clinical therapist with over a decade of experience. I am dedicated to assisting children in realizing their full potential. My expertise lies in working with children who face behavioral challenges, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, and mood disorders.
I hold a Master of Social Work degree from Millersville University’s accredited social work program. Additionally, I have received specialized training in leadership, advocacy, substance abuse prevention, and school social work. My diverse experience in school-based, outpatient, and telehealth settings has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of supporting families across various environments.
My primary objective is to establish strong and trusting relationships with each child and family. I firmly believe in creating a therapeutic environment that is engaging, practical, and centered on the child’s strengths. I utilize play and talk therapy as effective tools for facilitating learning and personal growth. I assist in implementing better opportunities for success in the school environment.
