Mike Batista, MA
I’ve had the privilege of over 20 years of mental health experience working with children, adults, and families. I look forward to putting that experience to work for you as we partner on your journey toward wellness. My goal is to walk with you as we find the path that leads to mental health and the happiness that you so very much deserve. With an M.A. in Applied Psychology from Penn State University and a person-centeredapproach, I’m hoping to build trust and a strong therapeutic relationship that will facilitate your journey. I utilize a Cognitive Behavioral approach but remain focused on the basics of communication, life skills, overcoming daily struggles, and making positive choices.
I have worked with all age groups, from young children to older adults. I have experience with managing a wide variety of struggles, including Anxiety, Depression, anger management, ADD, parenting, and internet addiction, as well as with the life skill work of young adults making the transition to adulthood. In addition to traditional therapy modalities, my social work experience has afforded me the opportunity to work with families navigating struggles with juvenile probation and BCCYS cases. This has provided me with a functional understanding of local community resources and the family pressures that such struggles can present. Life can be tough enough, so let me help you start working smarter, not harder.
