Emily Velez, LSW

Emily Velez, MSW, LSW, is a dedicated school-based outpatient therapist committed to supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of children and their families. She earned her Master of Social Work from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania and is passionate about creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel empowered to overcome challenges and achieve personal growth.

Emily brings experience from outpatient therapy, behavioral health, autism services, and direct support, giving her a well-rounded perspective on meeting the unique needs of children and adolescents. She has provided individual therapy, conducted behavioral and suicide risk assessments, developed treatment plans, implemented evidence-based interventions, and collaborated closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes for students. 

Emily believes that strong therapeutic relationships are the foundation of meaningful change. She strives to build trust with every student while helping them develop healthy coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen resilience, and reach their full potential both in and out of the classroom. As a dedicated social work professional, Emily is committed to lifelong learning and continuously seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills in every aspect of the field. She values collaboration, compassion, and culturally responsive care, and is passionate about advocating for the mental health and well-being of the students and families she serves. 

Her goal is to empower every student with the confidence and tools they need to succeed.
